Base-metal-containing core

There are, of course, metal-containing dendrimers that belong to more than one of the above-mentioned categories. Examples are the heptametallic dendrimer made of a central Fe(Cp)(C6Me6)+ core and coated with 6 ferrocene moieties [ 12], and the heterometallic dendrimers made of an organic core, containing up to 6 Pt(IV)-based organometallic species in the branches, and coated with up to 12 ferrocene units [13]. [Pg.205]

The tracer composition is frequently housed in a metal canister placed inside the base cavity. Copper, brass, gilding metal, gilding metal-coated steel, and copper-coated steel canisters are known. Some compositions are placed into the hollow base cavity without the use of a canister. A typical tracer bullet consists of a gilding metal bullet jacket and a lead core with a base cavity containing the tracer composition. Paper discs and lead, steel, or brass washers sealed with varnish are sometimes used to seal the base of the bullet. [Pg.72]

Catalysts were prepared by impregnating the noble metal chloride onto either an alumina washcoat or a proprietary washcoat containing alumina, ceria and other base metals. The catalyst was supported on a monolithic cordierite substrate with 64 square cells/cm. Cylindrical cores used for laboratory evaluations were 2.5 cm in diameter and, unless otherwise noted, 5 cm in length. The length of each core was composed of smaller segments taken from various locations down the monolith bed in order to minimize sampling biases. [Pg.874]

Several different basis sets, including pseudopotential LANL2DZ [100] as well as two Aldrich s valence split basis sets (triple zeta (TZVP) and quadruple zeta (QZVP) valence quality) [101] were used to calculate modeled reactions involving small FeS clusters. Employing an electron core potential (ECP) basis set such as LANL2DZ (Los Alamos National Laboratory 2 double for transition metals) has become popular in computations on a transition-metal-containing systems. Due to large size of calculated models in the case of the adsorption of nucleic acid bases on the clay mineral surfaces the 6-31G(d) basis set [102] was appUed. [Pg.649]

This assembly (Figure 5.3-3) contains 3 base metal (transverse) tensile test specimens and 12 impact test specimens in the top section. The tension specimens are placed in a housing machined to fit the compartment. Split spacers are placed around the gage length of the specimens to minimize the temperature differential between the specimen gage length and the coolant. The impact specimens are arranged vertically in 1 x 3 arrays and are oriented with the notch toward the reactor core. Spacers are utilized between the test specimens and the compartment. The... [Pg.95]
