Figure 9 shows a relationship between JTl and JTsc,ov for all salts. Any relationship between them is not clear on the whole. Experimental work is described on the nucleation and crystallization of various Ba0-B203-Al203 glasses both with and without metallic nucleating agents. Previous studies of the crystallization behavior of glasses are reviewed. Experiments are reported which indicate that small additions of metallic rhodium catalyzed internal crystallization in glasses of the barium aluminum borate system. Other noble metals were studied, but none was as effective as rhodium.
