(2001) thermoluminescence-dated aeolianites on both Lord Howe and Rottnest islands, off the coast of Western Australia (a lack of suitable crystalline minerals meant that attempts to date aeolianites on Norfolk Island were unsuccessful). Camptochaete excavata and Hypnodendron vitiense ssp. australe are present in eastern Australia, while the former is present also in New Guinea and Lord Howe Island and the latter also in Tasmania. [Pg.395]
