The compounds, which have been described in Sections 2 and 3 of this review, have been composed solely of [a,d]-fused six-membered rings. However, as the first part of a research program designed to increase the scope of the repetitive Diels-Alder synthetic methodology, the angular sjw-bisdienophile 74 was identified as a suitable building block to be employed in repetitive Diels-Alder reactions.
