Assessment strategy

In order to deal with hazards it is first necessary to identify them, and then to decide how likely they are to occur and how serious their consequences would be. A formal system should be used to study the plant and to identify and record the process hazards and the methods chosen to ensure safe operation. (See also case histories Al 1-14, pages 162-165.) [Pg.13]

It is the purpose of this guide to assist the user in developing an appropriate strategy or strategies. An appropriate strategy is one which allocates realistic responsibilities and in the most practical manner establishes effective safety procedures. The best way to do this depends on the size and structure of the company. [Pg.13]

Our new appreciation of the role of inflammation in atherosclerosis shows the way for translation of these novel biological insights to clinical practice, for example by aiding the identification of individuals at risk of adverse cardiovascular events [5]. In this context, inflammatory biomarkers such as CRP merit rigorous consideration for inclusion in risk assessment strategies. In addition, these scientific advances provide a framework... [Pg.229]

The Phase I NRA (Pronk 2008) made an initial assessment of the mineral potential of the area and makes recommendations for the type of survey that should be carried out for further mineral resource assessment (strategy for Phase II). [Pg.423]

What is called for is a careful zero-based consideration of what the optimum product safety assessment strategy for a particular development problem should be. Before formulating such a strategy and deciding what mix of tests should be used, it is first necessary to decide criteria for what would constitute an ideal (or at least acceptable) test system. [Pg.642]
