Assessing and Managing Exposure

As noted at the beginning of this chapter, limiting exposure is the preeminent strategy for managing risks from toxic chemicals. But given that myriad fate and transport mechanisms determine the paths of toxic chemicals through the environment, is it possible to make useful predictions about when and to what extent an at-risk population will be exposed

Identifies the various outputs, or losses, from the compartment during the same time period and sums them
