Arsenic nitrogen hydrides

Nitrogen, phosphorus and arsenic form more than one hydride. Nitrogen forms several but of these only ammonia, NHj, hydrazine, N2H4 and hydrogen azide N3H (and the ammonia derivative hydroxylamine) will be considered. Phosphorus and arsenic form the hydrides diphosphane P2H4 and diarsane AS2H4 respectively, but both of these hydrides are very unstable.

Certain volatile elements must be analyzed by special analytical procedures as irreproducible losses may occur during sample preparation and atomization. Arsenic, antimony, selenium, and tellurium are determined via the generation of their covalent hydrides by reaction with sodium borohydride. The resulting volatile hydrides are trapped in a liquid nitrogen trap and then passed into an electrically heated silica tube. Table 6.4 contains some bond length and bond angle data for the hydrides, fluorides and chlorides of nitrogen, phosphorus and arsenic. The differences in the electronegativity coefficients (Allred-Rochow) in the compounds are also given. 

Compare the properties of antimony hydride with those of similar compounds of arsenic, phosphorus, and nitrogen (the thermal stability, reducing properties, etc.).
