Nitrogen-arsenic

Heteropolyacids (HPA) are the unique class of inorganic complexes. They are widely used in different areas of science in biochemistry for the precipitation of albumens and alkaloids, in medicine as anticarcinogenic agents, in industry as catalysts. HPA are well known analytical reagents for determination of phosphoms, silica and arsenic, nitrogen-containing organic compounds, oxidants and reductants in solution etc. [Pg.60]

Shale oils are dark-brown, viscous, waxy liquids that usually contain higher concentrations of nitrogen and oxygen heteroatoms than coal liquids or crude oil. Oils can often have high pour point temperatures and may have trace concentrations of arsenic. Nitrogen levels of 2% and oxygen concentrations of 1.5% are typical. The sulfur content averages about 1%. [Pg.291]

The substance described as tetrammino-arsenie iodide, [As(NH3),]I3, is a yellow powder which loses ammonia on heating above 50° C., and at 300° C. decomposes into arsenic, nitrogen, and ammonium iodide. If the compound be cooled to 0° C. and ammonia again passed over it, a pale yellow liquid, of composition [As(NIT3)12]I3, is formed. Ilugot again obtained only the amide, As(NH2)3, on treating1 the iodide with ammonia gas. [Pg.70]

Can you locate element arsenic in the periodic chart It belongs to the column of which the top member is nitrogen, N (see Fig. 19.2). Below nitrogen is phosphorus, and the third member of the column is arsenic. Nitrogen and phosphorus are... [Pg.186]
