Approach - Mission-Oriented

In this section we present a pro-active approach to vulnerabihty analysis of snpply chain systems. By pro-active we mean that the analysis shall be condncted prior to any accidental event, and not as a consequence of an accidental event, as well as focusing on the potential mission-oriented consequences of an accidental event and the resources that may enable the system to regain stability. The approach is based on the set of factors (threats) that are present in the system, and the accidental events and scenarios that may materialize from these threats. [Pg.24]

In the preparation of the fourth edition, we have been guided by the collective wisdom of over fifty reviewers who are experts in one of the three subdisciplines covered in the book and who represent a diversity of experience, including community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities. We have retained the core approach of our successful earlier editions, modernized material where necessary, and expanded or removed material consistent with retention of the original focus and mission of the book.
