Waste water treatment. Supercritical CO2 has been put to use in a variety of industrial waste treatment applications. Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., has used SCCO2 in Baltimore since 1989 to treat wastewater from chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers. In the process the wastewater is pumped into the top of a 32-ft-high, 2-ft-diameter column, while the CO2 is pumped in from the bottom and percolates up. As the CO2 trowels up it dissolves the organics. CO2 contaminated with organics is at the top of the column, and clean water is at the bottom. The contaminants are incinerated off-site after separation from the CO2 which is recycled.

This is a liquid scrape-off remover for brush or soak applications. Clean up is with a solvent that is compatible with finish to be used, or wipe and dry. 

They are relatively easy to clean, hence their use in high suspended solids applications. Cleaning in-situ is possible but does not offer the best removal of fou-lants and scale. The best membrane cleaning involves removing the plates from the frame and hand-cleaning each individual flat sheet of membrane. 

As far as chemical variables are concerned, especially in case of trace determinations, all the steps of sample collection, treatment in the field and storage must be carefully considered in order to maintain sample integrity before analysis. In this respect the selection of appropriate equipment and non-contaminant materials, as well as the application of efficient cleaning procedures, are of paramount importance. For the most critical applications clean chemistry laboratories (equipped with Class 100 laminar flow cabins) must be available in the field or on board. 

The physical form and properties of intermediates and final molecules are directly linked to and impact other parts of a process such as the reactor type, the type of mixing (static or continuous), the overall process throughput, the rate at which a chemical will dissolve in a solvent or precipitate out, the ease of which liquids are separated, and so on. There will also be knock-on impacts related to energy used for heating, cooling, recovery if applicable, cleaning, and wastes.

Wipes are used to clean surfaces and can be used in either dry or wet/impregnated form. Disposable nonwoven wipes are increasingly used for diverse personal, household, industrial and medical applications. Global market size of wipes is more than 4 billion USD and is growing rapidly. There are some of foe application areas where foe contaminated environment is undesirable. For example, medical applications, clean room applications, skin care wipes. In such applications we require high level of cleanliness and thus release of particles from foe wipe used for cleaning the surface is totally undesirable and we need to assess lint release characteristics of foe wipes before their use in these applications. Hot melts 100% soUds adhesives that become flowable when heat is pUed. Often used to bond continuous flat surfaces. Fast application clean operation. Virtually no structural hot melts for plastics.
