Anion-exchange columns Alltech

Thirteen different enantiomers were tentatively used to obtain a significant number of A-V chiral solute descriptors. They were selected because they were well resolved on the four Chirobiotic columns. The set contained eight ionic or zwit-terionic amino acids or amino acid derivatives and five molecular solutes. The 13 enantiomers were separated on 5 well-characterized achiral columns, namely a classical polymeric C18, a diphenyl bonded column, a weak anion exchanger (Primesep D, SiELC), a divinyl benzene bonded column, and a strong anion exchanger (SAX, Alltech). Five different ethanol-water mobile phases were used making more than 300 chromatograms to develop and to analyze.

A HEMA-based anion exchanger developed by Alltech has been described as a universal stationary phase for the separation of a wide variety of anions [6,7]. This anion-exchange resin has been compared to agglomerated peUicular anion exchangers for the separation of anions by chemically suppressed 1C. The HEMA-based columns exhibit higher capacities for all anions and particularly for weakly retained anions such as fluoride and formate, which were completely resolved. The HEMA columns could be used for both isocratic and gradient techniques. 

Chemical and Agrochemical Applications Mohsin [263] developed an IC-MS method using thermospray and electrospray interfaces for the analysis of organophosphorus and organosulfur compounds in an insecticide such as monomethyl phosphate, monomethyl sulfate, and dimethyl phosphate. All three compounds were separated on an lonPac ASH anion exchanger using a NaOH/ methanol mixture as an eluent.
