Thermometer anemometer

Thermometer anemometer An instrument that measures the heat removed by an air stream passing over a heated element or bulb to determine the air velocity. See Kata thermometer. 

Glove box, anemometer and hygro-thermometer samples are weighed, mixed thoroughly at the prescribed ratio by weight of oxidizer to sawdust, and formed inside the glove box in an atmosphere dried by silica gel. 

As opposed to inertial sensors, micromachined anemometers are often based on micro hot plates, that is, combinations of heaters and thermometers on thermally insulating membranes or multilayered thin films [4]. Functional sensor parameters are obviously determined by thermal conductivities and heat capacities, which can be monitored to reject faulty chips. Until recently, suitable wafer-level testing methods have not been available, and most sensor designs were based on literature values, despite the fact that these values depend strongly on fabrication processing parameters. 

Workplace conditions that influence cold stress are the severity of cold stress, which depends on the air temperature, wind speed, and intensity of physical activity. Air temperature is measured by an ordinary thermometer in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. Different types of commercially available anemometers are used to measure wind speed or air movement. These are calibrated in miles per hour (mph). The following is a suggested guide for estimating wind speed, if accurate information is not available ... 

A globe thermometer is a thermometer inserted into a matt black copper globe. This provides a measure of radiant (infra-red) heat energy. A simple eqiration gives the mean radiant temperature from the globe temperature. Air velocity, if it is in one clear direction, can be measured with a vane anemometer otherwise a Kata thermometer or hot-wire anemometer can be nsed. The Kata thermometer is warmed and then the time for temperatiue drop between two poirrts observed. A chart gives the airflow.
