Alpha Amylase Enzyme

Amylase enzymes used in the desizing of cotton fabrics are obtained from different sources with different activity levels. There are two kinds of amylases available in sources, namely endoamylase and exoamylases. Endoamylases cleave a-[l-4)-glycosidic bonds present in the inner parts of amylose, whereas exoamylases act on external glucose residues of starch molecules. [Pg.150]

Endo enzymes include alpha amylases [l,4]-/3-D glucan, glucano-hydrolase, EC 3.2.1.1], pullulanases [pullulan 6 glucanohydrolase EC 3.2.1.41], and isoamylases [glycogen 6 glucanohydrolase, [Pg.151]

The melting and crystallization behaviors observed for PCL and PLLA enzymatically coalesced with the alpha-amylase enzyme from Bacillus licheniformis, indicate that they might lead to superior drug carriers when coalesced from common CD-ICs also containing drugs (see Fig. 13). One of the most remarkable contributions to sol-gel coating for optical sensors in biological environments is the usage of 1,5-diphenylcarbazone as a sensitive reagent to determine Zn in serum of diabetic patients [180], nano-CdS particles for measuring the activity of the alpha-amylase enzyme in human saliva [181], and the encapsulation of seminaphthorhodamine-1 carboxylate dye in a sol-gel matrk to determine the pH in blood [182]. [Pg.1254]
