AlMg alloy

Among aluminium alloys, particularly those with high strength within the AlZnMg and AlCu series have been liable to SCC. In heavily cold-worked AlMg alloys with Mg content > 5% and in cast AlCuSi alloys, SCC may also occur. Finally, it may be developed in AIMgSi alloys after poor heat treatment [7.27]. 

Magnesium-aluminum alloys with higher aluminum content may soon be available. Alloys such as "AlMg" used at sea for cast ship fittings are likely tQ be less...

Intergranular corrosion can also occur in other metals and alloys in connection with grain boundary precipitation, for example, in aluminum magnesium (AlMg) 5 alloy, nickel chromium 30 iron (NiCr30Fe), or Ti, and in methanol with traces of water and HCl. Solution annealed austenitic chromium-nickel steels can suffer intergranular corrosion from strong oxidants such as chromium...

However, it has to be noted here that some solid solution strengthened alloys are supersaturated at room temperature. This is the case, for example, for the alloy AlMg 4.5 Mn. If the material is cooled too slowly...
