Allergy inhibitors

Constit. of latex of Dyera lowii and in the leaves of Anodendron affine. Also from Nerium oleander, Trachelospermum jasminoides and other plants. Latex used for manuf of chewing gum. Allergy inhibitor. Cryst. (EtOH) with sweet taste. Mp 210°. Exhibits polymorphism. Opt. inactive (meso-). [Pg.427]

BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY Antibiotic [8086] antibiotic-resistant bacteria [8062] for biliary and urinary tract disorder treatment [8087] antagonist against both thromboxane A and leukotriene [8088] antimicrobial for staphylococcus aureus [6891] as allergy inhibitor [8089] vesicular stomatitis virus inhibition [8059],... [Pg.2020]

Its chief use is as a component in photographic developers. Because the free compound is unstable in air and light, it is usually marketed as the sulfate salt [55-55-0] Metol, mp 260°C (dec.). It also finds appHcation as an intermediate for fur and hair dyes and, under certain circumstances, as a corrosion inhibitor for steel. Prolonged exposure to 4-(/V-methy1amino)pheno1 has been associated with the development of dermatitis and allergies. [Pg.315]

History. This includes the severity grading of the clinical reaction, the time of administration and onset of symptoms, the concomitant use of other drugs, foods or compounds (latex), previous history of drug allergy, atopy in the personal or family history, other underlying conditions such as mastocytosis or Cl esterase inhibitor deficiency. The actual preparation in its galenic identity should be stored or at least listed. [Pg.197]

Some medicines, such as non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, convertase inhibitors, and (3-blockers, may intensify food allergy symptoms (Brooks et ah, 1989 Meune et ah, 2000 Tenenbaum et ah, 2000). [Pg.122]
