Within this formula, Dang Gui is bitter, acrid, sweet, and warm. It supplements and harmonizes the blood. Combined with Peony, these two supplement blood vacuity and are the sovereign medicinals in this formula. Cinnamon is acrid, sweet, and warm. It warms the channels and scatters cold. Combined with Asarum, these two scatter cold from both the inside and outside. They are the minister medicinals in this formula. Licorice and Red Dates are sweet.
