Hayasaka et al. [157] reported the determination of the fatty acid distribution in mouse retina by using AgNPs in nano-PALDI-IMS. The sections were sliced to a thickness of 10 pm and sprayed with AgNPs or DHB matrix solution at 50 mg/mL in 70 % methanol/0.1%TFA. The mouse retinal sections were analyzed at a high spatial resolution with a scan pitch of 10 pm. The MS images showed the distribution of palmitic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), arachidonic acid, and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). [Pg.412]

To make the containers sensitive to IR laser light, preformed silver nanoparticles were directly incorporated into the polyelectrolyte shell. For this purpose, AgNPs were added into solutions of polyelectrolytes for LbL deposition and hence fixed between the polyelectrolyte layers. The AFM images of the resultant nanocontainer-impregnated him showed a uniform distribution of the containers over the coating, with the concentration of the silica containers equalling 107 containers per meter squared. [Pg.650]

The nonpolar (or hydrophobic) component, AGnp may be decomposed into a surface component, which is proportional to the solvent accessible surface area (SASA) of the solute and the component representing the solute-solvent non-electrostatic interactions,57... [Pg.213]

Figure 10 shows the values of the apparent rate constant kapp as a function of theoretical specific surface area of metal nanoparticles immobilized in different carrier systems. As shown in Fig. 10, a strictly linear relationship between kapp and the surface of the metal nanoparticles can be observed. Figure 10 demonstrates that Pt and Pd nanoparticles exhibit higher catalytic activity than AgNPs. Table 1... [Pg.141]

The advances in synthesis, characterization, and utilization of DNA-AuNPs have tempted researchers to synthesize DNA-modified silver nanoparticles (DNA-AgNPs). Silver nanoparticles arc attractive due to their smface plasmon resonance ( max = 410nm), catalytic activities, high extinction coefficient, and Raman enhancing properties. These properties, when combined with the chemical and physical characteristics derived from the dense DNA loading, are expected to make... [Pg.431]
