After the Conference

it is over. It was fim and stimulating you learned a lot you made some potentially useful contacts and you saw the sights. Now back to the reality of office routine. Right  [Pg.162]

Wrong The conference isn t over. You need to follow-up on all those to dos and action items you identified at the conference in order to realize the return on the investment made by you and your organization. Most of the follow-up tasks will be simple. Write some emails, send some materials, make some calls, and talk to somebody in your office. [Pg.162]

Follow-up should start on yom trip back home from the conference. Remember, as simple as follow-ups may be, there should be many. You will need to discipline yourself to get them done because not only will you soon be back in your normal, busy living and working environment, but you have to catch up on the things that accumulated while you were gone. Don t let the follow-ups slide get them done now. [Pg.162]

By keeping small promises, you build big relationships. And, don t forget promises that you made to your supervisor or colleagues before you went to the conference, such as presenting a brown bag or writing a summary memorandum. Your credibility is on the line. [Pg.163]

One of the wonders of professional and business organizations, as exemplified by their conferences, is the tremendous amount of unselfish volunteer effort contributed by very few people so that very many people can have the opportunity for a stimulating learning experience—and a good time If you had such an experience, write a brief thank you note to one or more of the conference organizers and hosts. [Pg.163]

We regret that at least three of our speakers were not able to submit their written contribution, but, due to what is likely a statistical spike, they were quite busy just after the conference in a more fundamental business we thank them for their participation and we wish all the best to their babies. [Pg.397]

My paper on incapacitating agents was mostly a rehash of old material, but included a few new off-the-wall ideas of my own. I also met Joe Coates, a six foot seven inch, very brainy civilian with an Abe Lincoln style beard, who worked at the Institute for Defense Analysis in Washington, DC. We exchanged letters after the conference, but as with most chance meetings, the relationship was brief. [Pg.201]

These comments added after the conference by invitation. [Pg.28]

These comments were written after the Conference by the authors. [Pg.260]

In February 2007, nearly half a year after the conference, the FDA finally issued a press release announcing its intention to require label changes indicating psychiatric side effects such as hearing voices, becoming suspicious for no reason, or becoming manic, but at a rate of only 1 per 1,000. This rate estimate of 1 per 1,000 (0.1%) actually made the threat seem less than doctors had previously supposed since a higher rate of 1% had been bandied about for many years. [Pg.299]

Discussion of the papers from the floor was an important part of the Symposium, After editing, the discussions were in most instances checked by the contributors. I am pleased to acknowledge here the contributors prompt response. Some comments were received after the conference but I did not consider it essential to identify them as such in this volume. [Pg.529]

We thank also the following persons for their assistance before, during and after the conference ... [Pg.548]

This table may be incomplete if there are other donors who made contributions after the conference began, their names may have been omitted because we were unaware of their generosity. We apologize to any such donors. [Pg.409]

Japan followed America s example and refused to ratify (they finally did so in May 1970). In Europe, the various countries eyed one another cautiously. France ratified first, in 1926. Two years later, in 1928, Italy followed suit and a fortnight after her, the Soviet Union declared that she, too, considered herself bound by the Protocol. Only after Germany ratified in 1929 did Britain feel able at last to accept the Protocol on 9 April 1930, five years after the Conference, Britain at last fell into line. [Pg.32]

As a record of this successful Conference, all papers (after revision) presented to the Symposium and the discussions during the meeting are now published in these Proceedings. In addition, the contributions shortly after the Conference in projecting future trends of adhesive research are also included. As a result, the new title for the volume becomes "Adhesive Chemistry - Developments and Trends." The six parts following the original order of the Conference are ... [Pg.877]

I want to mention another important aspect of difference between organic chemistry and biochemistry. After the conference we will probably have a more detailed understanding of molecular recognition. But this is just the first step. In accepting the lock and key picture we... [Pg.28]

Worldwide limits for solvents in the atmosphere were discussed and set (and subsequently updated) at a conference in Montreal in 1988. The protocol issued after the conference, the Montreal Protocol, laid down a timetable for solvent use reduction for chlorofluorocarbon solvents and specifically for carbon tetrachloride and methyl chloroform. The use of the former to be eliminated by 1997, and the latter to be reduced by 70% by the year 2000, and then to be totally banned by 2005. [Pg.126]

After the Conference of the States Parties has adopted the budget, determined the amount of the Working Capital Frmd and decided on the scale of assessments for both, the Director-General shall ... [Pg.656]

If you simply enjoy a conversation you had with a person you met because you share some good chemistry, that s a good reason to take action. Your thoughtful follow-up might be as simple as an e-mail to them after the conference saying, It was a pleasure to meet you. I enjoyed our conversation. I hope to see you in the future. ... [Pg.161]

The conference eventually resulted in a book named after the conference. The Nature of Nature (Gordon Dembski, 2011b). One thing, however, was markedly absent from the list of topics—any discussion of the practical consequences of any of the theories of reality offered by the conference attendees. In other words, many interesting ideas were put forth, but nothing concrete enough to result in the building of a better phone. [Pg.3]

Restitutus (i), a Catholic priest of Hippo Regius. Soon after the conference of Carthage in June 411 (before 29 February 412), he was ambushed and killed by Circumcellions and members of the Donatist clergy. Another Catholic priest. Innocent, was severely beaten and maimed at the same time (cf. Letter 133. i 134.2). A. asked for judicial clemency for the alleged assassins. Some historians identify him with Restitutus of Victoriana (cf. below, Restitutus (2)). Others hold that the two priests are unrelated because A s accounts of Restitutus of Victoriana do not mention the assassination. [Pg.246]
