Adrenaline lipolysis stimulation

The neurohormonal control of lipid metabolism chiefly affects the mobilization and synthesis of triglycerides in the fat tissue. The lipolysis in tissues is dependent upon the activity of triglyceride lipase. All the regulators that favour the conversion of the inactive (nonphosphorylated) lipase to the active (phosphoiylated) one, stimulate the lipolysis and the release of fatty acids into the blood. Adrenalin... [Pg.210]

Hormones can modify the concentration of precursors, particularly the lipolytic hormones (growth hormone, glucagon, adrenaline) and cortisol. The lipolytic hormones stimulate lipolysis in adipose tissue so that they increase glycerol release and the glycerol is then available for gluconeogenesis. Cortisol increases protein degradation in muscle, which increases the release of amino acids (especially glutamine and alanine) from muscle (Chapter 18). [Pg.124]

Inhibition of adrenaline-stimulated lipolysis in adipose tissue. [Pg.280]

Stimulation of the pituitary-adrenocortical system by the saponins has been recently observed 189, 190) and the effect of the saponins on the action of adrenalin, ACTH and insulin in lipolysis and lipogenesis were investigated 191). Chemopharmacological studies of the hypoglycemic principles in Ginseng have been carried out 192, 193). [Pg.65]

A hormone secreted by the adrenal medulla. It stimulates the sympathetic nervous system causing bronchodilatation, vasoconstriction and increased heart rate, which together raise the blood pressure. Adrenaline also increases glycogenolysis and lipolysis and this can increase blood levels of glucose and fatty acids. [Pg.9]
