Actuating capabilities

Sensing and Actuating Capabilities of Those Electrochemical Reactions. . 16-16... [Pg.1649]

There is no dispersion layer present without a dispersant. The well penetrated diffusion layer increases the electrical conductivity of the electrodes which in turn results in improved actuation capability of the IPMCs. [Pg.9]

Among other benefits of the IPMC is the actuation capability within a wide temperature range. It was first shown by Shahinpoor et al. that IPMCs are capable of actuation in temperatures below 0°C [Shahinpoor et al. (1998)]. This is definitely a note-worthy phenomenon as water freezes below that temperature. [Pg.38]

THUNDER actuators are produced by bonding of thin piezoelectric ceramic plate to metal sheet at elevated temperature by using a high-temperature adhesive. Internal stresses are induced in such actuator due to the ceramic-metal thermal expansion mismatch. This process leads to curved stress-biased actuator capable of high displacements. [Pg.177]
