Absorption and Adsorption are not the sam e Absorption is the incorporation (sometimes even consumption) of a matter into a medium (light is absorbed/consumed by a pigment, gas is ab-sorbed/dissolves into a liquid), whereas Adsorption is the adhesion of matter onto a—usually solid—surface (dust on furniture, steam on windscreen, vapours on any solid surface...) Adsorption is further subdivided in chemisorption, in which the matter is bound to a surface by chemical bonds, and phy si sorption, in which the bonding is only a physical effect. The transition between both is fluent. 

With dihydrogen, one carbon of the C2 ligand inserts into the H-H bond to give a i3-vinylidene in 351.524,535 The latter is fluxional via a windscreen-wiper-like oscillation between the two Ru3 faces, with estimated at 60.3 kJ mol-1. The 80 c.v.e. cluster exhibits lengthening of the Ru-Ru bonds (average 3.03 A). 

In the modern urban atmosphere, 03 may be the pollutant of particular concern for health. However, it is a reactive gas that will also attack the double bonds of organic molecules (see Section 2.7) very readily. Rubber is a polymeric material with many double bonds, so it is degraded and cracked by 03. Tyres and windscreen wiper blades are especially vulnerable to oxidants, although newer synthetic rubbers have double bonds protected by other chemical groups, which can make them more resistant to damage by 03.

A wide range of manufacturing operations calling for measurement of properties as diverse as hot tear strength (for moldings extracted from heated molds), compression modulus (as a measure of porosity), coefficient of friction (for surface-treated components such as latex gloves and windscreen wiper blades) and adhesion strength (for rubber-to-fabric or rubber-to-metal bonds)...

Sika internal studies and those made in cooperation with a car manufacturer carried out in 1996 showed that the primerless system provides good durable adhesion and outperforms black primer systems for bonded auto windscreens. The studies showed that not only UV, but also other factors contribute to the degradation of the adhesive system such as humidity, working conditions, application. 

One example of high performance polyurethane adhesives is the bonding in windscreens in cars and commercial vehicles. The use of this kind of adhesives provides a fast, reliable and watertight installation as well as adding structural support [47]. 

Many grades of polyurethanes are certainly adhesives and not jnst sealants and most automotive windscreens are now bonded in with a polyurethane-based adhesive. The excellent adhesion, durability and good flexibility are key properties. Note that most...
