The tools used to evaluate risk, both a priori (on the basis of a systematic analysis of the vulnerabilities of the system in question) and a posteriori (based on the analysis of accidents and incidents that have really occurred) are the toolkit of reliability engineers they are well-known and they are not described in this work. We refer the reader back to the plethora of literature that exists on this subject and we will only cite a small selection of the references, which is no doubt incomplete but is nevertheless sufficient to obtain an overview of the principal methods used. ...
