Vodka clear

The Dirty Jane is a gimmick, and it is also a great cocktail. (I ve put my resignation in a sealed envelope to be opened upon this recommendation.) Part martini, part deli sandwich, it is a vodka martini, no vermouth, with a wedge of pickled green tomato instead of an olive. A splash of the pickle brine makes it dirty, as a splash of olive brine would make it a straight dirty martini. The drink itself is a clear liquid. 

The gimlet s logic seems clear to me gin or vodka, with Rose s Lime Juice and fresh lime juice in equal parts, shaken or stirred until ice cold and served straight up in a stemmed cocktail glass that is confident but not proud of its sex appeal. A standard martini glass... 

To make the eggs, tint 1/4 cup gumpaste a desired color and roll it into egg shapes, with one end slightly tapered. Fill a small bowl with either lemon juice or a clear alcohol such as vodka, and add a pinch of metallic gold dust. Dip die brush in the mixture. Pull the brisdes of the brush back and then release them, so that the metallic liquid splatters the egg. Let the eggs dry. Place in the bird s nest. 

At the third hour I drank, over the course of an hour, a tall drink containing 3 oz. of vodka. Soon I was clearly somewhere, and three hours later I was a rolling plus three. This lasted until well after midnight, and was not an alcohol response.
