Sound consists of mechanical vibrations and waves of an elastic medium. It is produced by a mechanical stimulation ofthe elastic medium. According to the carrier media, one distinguishes gas, liquid or impact sound. Sound can be perceived by the human ear in the frequency range of 16-20 000 Hz.
