Vertical plant

Taking the C2 axis lying along thd C==C=C axis of the molecule as the reference axis, we look for a crh. There none, so.the group D2h is eliminated. There are, however, two vertical plants (which lie between C axes), so the group is D2J. [Pg.57]

Emergence takes place at night in late summer and autumn. The larva crawls up a vertical plant stem of 10cm or more to emerge. The immature adult remains away From water for 7-10 days. The flight season lasts from late July to well into the autumn. [Pg.122]

Heat Recovery and Seed Recovery System. Although much technology developed for conventional steam plants is appHcable to heat recovery and seed recovery (HRSR) design, the HRSRhas several differences arising from MHD-specific requirements (135,136). First, the MHD diffuser, which has no counterpart ia a conventional steam plant, is iacluded as part of the steam generation system. The diffuser experiences high 30 50 W/cm heat transfer rates. Thus, it is necessary to allow for thermal expansion of the order of 10 cm (137) ia both the horizontal and vertical directions at the connection between the diffuser and the radiant furnace section of the HRSR. [Pg.435]

The compressor can be driven by electric motors, gas or steam turbiaes, or internal combustion (usually diesel) engines. The compressor can also be a steam-driven ejector (Fig. 7b), which improves plant reUabiUty because of its simplicity and absence of moving parts, but also reduces its efficiency because an ejector is less efficient than a mechanical compressor. In all of the therm ally driven devices, turbiaes, engines, and the ejector mentioned hereia, the exhaust heat can be used for process efficiency improvement, or for desalination by an additional distillation plant. Figure 8 shows a flow diagram of the vertical-tube vapor compression process. [Pg.246]
