Verifying Plausibility of Injury Probability Models

Injury probability models can be used in two different ways  [Pg.101]

Prediction of a variety of different cumulative injury levels (e.g., ISSO-8, ISS9-15.). [Pg.101]

In the first case, the models given are ready to use and provide the highest possible explanatory value with respect to the training data. In the second case, the models have to fulfill additional plausibility criteria in order to deliver reasonable results. Two constraints seem meaningful and reasonable  [Pg.101]

If the collision speed equals zero Vc = Okph), the injury probability is defined as zero (p = 0). [Pg.101]

Constraint 1 can be seen as reasonable addition to the probability models [45], This can result in a point of discontinuity at Uc = 0 kph for some models. [Pg.102]
