Variable Focus Liquid Lens by Changing Aperture Size

3 Variable Focus Liquid Lens by Changing Aperture Size [Pg.156]

Ren et al. presented a design to vary the focal length of a liquid lens by changing its aperture size [14,15]. A lever actuator was used to control the movement of rotatable impellers that in turn imparted a pressure on the fluid-filled lens. Thus, the redistributed liquid changed the lens curvature and tuned the focal length. [Pg.156]

Focal lengths of the cylindrical lenses focusing light along the x-axis (squares) and y-axis (crosses) are shown as functions of the pressure differences, AP and AP respectively. Reprinted from [13] with permission from Optical Society of America. [Pg.157]
