Vapor Taggant Properties

Table 16 (from Ref 12) Candidate Vapor Taggant Properties... [Pg.508]

Approximately 180 vapor materials have been screened in the laboratory as candidate microencapsulated vapor taggants. In addition, several hundred other materials were rejected after a thorough analytical review. Five candidate perfluorinated cycloalkane compounds have been extensively tested, and have successfully completed barrier penetration, mutagen, toxicity, and atmospheric impact testing. The five candidate vapor taggants and their chemical properties are shown in table 16 ... [Pg.508]

Physical Properties and Toxicology Data for Potential Vapor Taggants... [Pg.509]

A measure of the stability of each adduct was obtained by raising the temperature of the whole instrument to determine the highest temperature at which the adduct was observed in the mobility spectrum. The order of stability determined, Cb(DNB) > Cb(DMDNP) > Cb(DMNB), is the same as the number of H atoms in a position a to the NO2 groups, that is, 4, 1, and 0. Further studies were made with DMNB because it has suitable properties, in particular vapor pressure, as a taggant. [Pg.399]
