Similar to the PAMPA and the Caco-2 models, the experimental pH of the buffer solution can be changed in the Ussing chambers model. Investigations of regional differences in permeability and metabolism have been carried out using a variety of animal models [22, 29, 75, 102, 109, 112, 137].
