Uses of Collaborations

In this section, we digress to review the use of collaborative virtual environments in prosecuting research on Brillouin-Wigner methods. ... [Pg.52]

A collaborative virtual environment for molecular electronic structure theory evolved during research into the use of Brillouin-Wigner methodology in handling the electron correlation problem in molecules. We describe all of the elements of a collaborative virtual environment that we have considered and give a brief assessment of how useful each element turned out to be in practice. Others may find different elements to be more or less useful in their own collaborative work. Others may find elements that we have not listed here to be useful. We believe that collaborative virtual environments will become increasing important in the years ahead. They will undoubtedly be at their most useful when tailored to participants research projects. We are not aware of any previous work which has examined the use of collaborative virtual environments in molecular electronic structure theory or quantum chemistry. [Pg.55]

Use of collaboration rooms a common arena for managers, planners, HSE, discipline expert. There is different use of collaboration rooms across assets/installations from permanent use (their office) versus a meeting room, and the users (functions represented) of the room varies. Collaboration rooms enables information sharing, rapid responses and shared decision-making. [Pg.2086]

This paper investigates how lO work practices affects shared understanding between the onshore and offshore organization. This discussion is based on management s use of collaboration room... [Pg.2088]

Infrastructures without expensive investments such as the use of Internet-mediated applications lead to use of collaboration tools. However, the initial investments to upgrade the systems and learning activities, and resistance to change towards the new application became main problems at the initial stage of implementation. [Pg.165]

Level 3 individual employee level At this level the individual employees or members save time through the use of collaboration tools when transferring and transmitting information and associated knowledge. As the information can be easily attained through the collaboration tools, the employees or members can react and respond to an incident quickly and independently, as the system can give the information and the... [Pg.165]

Through the use of collaboration tools, the questions ofhowto create awin-win situation between suppliers, distributors, the supply chain members, and to what extent collaboration tools are used become a concern for supply chains. Littler, Lev-erick, Bmce (1995) questioned the suitability of supplier collaboration maybe his question needs to be further extended, and it should be worded as to what extent/level supply chain collaboration is considered to be beneficial ... [Pg.170]

The Use of Collaboration Tools in Supply Chain Implications and Challenges / Ozlem Bak.162... [Pg.304]

The chapter addresses supply chain integration by the use of collaboration tools. The author explains the concept of collaboration tools and its importance in the supply chain integration, evaluates the requirements for supply chain management, and emphasizes the collaborative problem areas within the supply chain. A case study for an application of collaboration tools is presented. The author argues that supply chain collaboration is effective only if the collaboration tools are integrated and used jointly by supply chain partners. [Pg.304]

In this chapter, we elaborate on how the use of collaboration and technology are providing the means to gain positions of industry dominance in this vital business area. Larry Huhn and Simon Buesnel, partners at CSC, provided special help with this chapter and we greatly appreciate... [Pg.213]
