Urea-poly inclusion

Papers concerning the physical properties of polymers as the guest components in urea inclusion compounds and polymerization reactions of guest monomer molecules within the urea tunnel structure have been reviewed elsewhere. The polymers studied included poly (ethylene), poly (acrylonitrile), poly (1,3-butadiene), poly(eth-ylene oxide), poly(tetrahydrofiiran), poly(acrolein), poly(vinyl chloride), poly(ethyl acrylate), poly(lactide), poIy(lactic acid), poly(ethylene adipate). poly(ethylene succinate), acrylonitrile-ethyl acrylate copolymer, and poly(hexanediol di acrylate). 

Other species that form compounds with poly(ethylene oxide) include lithium salts, urea, mercury halides, and resorcinol among others.(117,118,122-124) Urea has been found to form inclusion compounds with many polymers.(125)... 

Large amounts of mn -l,4-poly(2,3-dimethyl-l,3-butadiene) can be prepared by inclusion polymerization [330-332]. Urea or thiourea are used as templates. Trans-, A polymer (99 °C) is also obtained with 71-allylnickel chlorides in combination with tetrachlor-l,4-benzoquinone. Anionic polymerization by butyllithium allows good control of the products micro structure over a wide range [97]. 

Blends of PDMS27K-IP-B2 and a poly(ether-urethane) with the former as the minor component (1.6, 2.5, and 6.0 wt%) were prepared. The identical hard segments provide a driving force for compatibility between the two components and the disparity in the soft segment surface tensions ensures a surface enriched in siloxanes. Inclusion of poly(siloxane-urea-urethane) even at 1.6%...

Recently, urea was found to form inclusion complexes with poly(e-caprolactone)-polybutadiene diblock copolymer [20].
