Typical Self-Discharge Characteristics of an Ag-Zn Battery

The author feels that the Ag-Zn battery terminal voltage will fluctuate as a function of ambient temperature and the battery rated capacity. Comprehensive examination of published literatures provides estimated variations in the terminal voltage of this battery as a function temperature and the battery rated capacity, which are summarized in Table 7.5. 

It is evident from the data summarized in Table 7.5 that the terminal voltage remains fairly constant at the ambient temperature of 100°F or 40°C. At lower temperatures, however, its terminal voltage drops rapidly when the rated capacity varies from 25 to 75%.
