Typical Rheological Aspect of Short Fiber-Filled Thermoplastic Melts

4 Typical Rheological Aspect of Short Fiber-Filled Thermoplastic Melts [Pg.368]

In steady slit extrusion of short fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites, the formation of a skin-core of fibers oriented in the thickness direction has been observed, with fibers axis along the flow direction and parallel to the walls in the skin region, irrespective of the entrance geometry. Different fiber orientation distributions in the core region are however obtained by using different entrance geometries.  [Pg.369]
