Types of Hazards in Confined Spaces

The following hazards may be associated with, or present in, a confined space that could be a part of the warehouse environment  

Oxygen deficiency is one of the primary causes of approximately 50 percent of all confined-space fatalities. OSHA has established a safe oxygen range for confined spaces without the use of auxiliary air supplies. These levels are 19.5 to 23.5 percent. Special equipment, supported by training, is necessary to test the atmosphere of a confined space prior to entry. 

Fauity judgment and poor muscuiar coordination rapid fatigue caused by muscuiar exertion intermittent respiration 

Nausea, vomiting, inability to perform vigorous movement, or loss of the ability to move unconsciousness followed by death 

Difficulty breathing convulsive movements death in minutes
