TVA as an Analytic Technique

Currently, several companies sell the set of devices for thermogravimetric analysis (e.g., Perkin Elmer, Netzsch, Mettler Toledo, TA Instruments, and Linseis, among others). 

In the literature, it is common to use the term evolved gas analysis (EGA), consisting of a technique similar to TVA in which the gaseous products obtained during the TG measurement are readily analyzed by coupling an appropriate instrument to the TG apparatus [7]. 

Thermal degradation of a material is a complex process consisting of the interaction and competition of various mechanisms that produce a variety of degradation products [15]. 

The behavior of the thermal system will depend on the atmosphere surrounding the sample, its power of convection and flow, the thermal conductivity, and the medium format. Other factors such as oven heating rate, heating of the atmosphere, support geometry, and furnace geometry are standardized instrumental factors for each piece of equipment. 

The effect of this furnace atmosphere will depend on the type of reaction, the nature of the decomposition products, and the type of the atmosphere used. The release of
