Trypanosoma gambiense

Mattern et al. (M33) observed that there was a significant increase in the level of BjM (IgM) in both the serum and CSF of patients infected with Trypanosoma gambiense. They observed that the increase of IgM in the serum may be 10 to 20-fold. Lamy (LI) found persons infected with trypanosomiasis showed that a mean serum IgM of 830 mg/100 ml may be reached. Masseyeff and Lamy (M32) also reported raised levels of serum IgM in patients infected with trypanosomiasis. The CSF of in-... [Pg.190]
