Tropical Wet Forest ecosystems

Brazilian Atlantic geographical region is placed on the Brazilian hilly plain and its eastern slope. The southern part of this region is characterized by subtropical climate, the active temperature coefficient is a little bit less than 1.0 and biogeochemical cycling coefficient is a little bit higher than in typical Tropical Wet Forest ecosystems (Cb is 0.15). In the northern part the very low fertile Chromic Luvisols are predominant in Tropical Forest ecosystems and in the southern part the coniferous forests grow on Nitosols. [Pg.327]

Table 6 represents the amounts of HM accumulated by the year 1995 in the soil-biogeochemical fluxes occurring in Tropical Wet Forest ecosystems surrounding the Mae Moh Power Plant. [Pg.307]
