Trigger Requirements

All three classes of modifications require that the permittee send a notice of the modification to all persons on the facility mailing list. Inclusion on a RCRA facility mailing list is typically accomplished by submitting a written request. Class 2 and 3 permit modifications trigger requirements for public notice, solicitation of comments, and, in some cases, a public meeting. [Pg.42]

Figure 23. Description of six geometric triggers required for structural diffusion (a) O -O separation must form a Zundel ion (b) O -H separation must exceed the equilibrium bond distance (c) Z0 H 0 is nearly linear in the Zundel ion (d) Lone pair of electrons in the water should point towards the proton (e) Initial H3O forms an Eigen ion (f) Eigen cation is formed around final H3O. These six geometric triggers must he satisfied along with the energetic trigger for the reaction to take place. O of H3O, gray O of H2O, black H, white. Figure 23. H to be transferred, the O of the H2O, and each of the two H of the H2O be near the equilibrium H-O-H bond angles for HsO. In, other words, one of the two lone electron pairs in the water must be directed at the incoming H. The fifth trigger requires the HsO to be properly hydrated. Examination of Eigen ion in Fig. 22 (b) reveals minimum level of hydration required. Each of the non-reactive H on HsO is required to be within certain distance of an O of adjacent non-reactive H2O by the trigger. The sixth and the... [Pg.179]

The two most common types of pressure relief are rupture disk or spring relief valve. The rupture disk once triggered requires that the operation be stopped, the disk replaced and then either continue the operation or abort the operation with a column cleaning. The spring relief valve allows action such as reduction of the flow rate to be taken and is more forgiving to spikes in pressure perhaps associated with the switching of values, for example, for fraction collection. [Pg.252]

Launay et al have shown that following electrochemical oxidation, many DTE systems undergo a thermal isomerisation from one photoisomer to the cation radical of the other isomeric form. This opens up the possibility of electrochromism with memory via thermal transformations of the oxidised switch, as a reduction step does not return the molecule to its initial state but to its photoisomer. The electronic properties of 5-thienyl susbstituents on the DTE switch does exert a degree of control over these characteristics because these groups can modify the oxidation potential of the dithienyl moiety and therefore provide the trigger required to unlock the thermally-derived forms (Scheme 12). [Pg.197]

OSHA regulations have established a PEL of 1.0 ppm, as an 8-hour TWA and a 15-minute STEL of 5.0 ppm. The OSHA regulation contains an action level of 0.5 ppm 8-hour TWA, which triggers requirements for additional monitoring, medical surveillance, and annual employee training. [Pg.118]

Detection efficiency was 50% at 6.1 MeV and 90% at 7.9 MeV over the fiducial volume of 680 tons. Trigger required >20 photomultiplier tubes to give signal within... [Pg.205]

Physical separation between eddy current functions and system functions, so that the system requirements (encoders amount, trigger specifications, robot control) can be changed without influence on the eddy current modules. [Pg.277]

Moving responsibility for the force computation away from the patches required a move away from pure message-driven execution to dependency-driven execution in which patches control the data (atomic coordinates) needed for compute objects to execute. A compute object, upon creation, registers this dependency with those patches from which it needs data. The patch then triggers force calculation by notifying its dependent compute objects when the next timestep s data is available. Once a compute object has received notification from all of the patches it depends on, it is placed in a prioritized queue for eventual execution. [Pg.478]

Many compounds explode when triggered by a suitable stimulus however, most are either too sensitive or fail to meet cost and production-scale standards, requirements for safety in transportation, and storage stability. Propellants and explosives in large-scale use are based mosdy on a relatively small number of well-proven iagredients. Propellants and explosives for military systems are manufactured ia the United States primarily ia government owned plants where they are also loaded iato munitions. Composite propellants for large rockets are produced mainly by private iadustry, as are small arms propellants for sporting weapons. [Pg.3]

Intrinsic asthma, also called idiopathic asthma, usually develops in adulthood. In intrinsic asthma allergic factors are not demonstrable. Episodes of intrinsic asthma may be triggered by a variety of stimuli, eg, emotional state, exposure to cold air, or inert dusts. Both intrinsic and extrinsic asthmatics can be prone to exercise-induced attacks. Individuals who experience a combination of extrinsic and intrinsic asthmatic reactions have mixed asthma. Status asthmaticus refers to an especially acute life-threatening asthma attack which is resistant to normal treatments and which may require hospitalization in order to stabilize the patient. [Pg.436]

In the presence of the organic siHcate, the heavy-metal salts trigger the chain extension and cross-linking reactions that lead to siHcone mbber and volatile ethanol as a byproduct. Useful metal soaps iaclude stannous octanoate [1912-83-0], ziac octanoate [557-09-5], dibutyltin dilaurate [77-58-7], and dibutyltin diacetate [1067-33-0]. The reactivity of the different salts varies considerably. Stannous octanoate effects a cure ia 0.5—2 min ziac octanoate may require 24—96 h the dibutyltin dilaurate, 10—20 min. Heat and moisture accelerate the curing rate, but to a lesser degree than ia the case of the polysulfide mbbers. [Pg.492]

Your company receives toluene, a listed toxic chemical, from another facility, reacts the toluene with air to form benzoic acid, and further reacts the benzoic acid with a cadmium catalyst to form terephthallc acid. Cadmium compounds and terephthallc acid are also listed toxic chemicals. Your company processes toluene, and otherwise uses (not processes) the cadmium catalyst (see the definition of "otherwise use" below). Your company manufactures benzoic acid and terephthallc acid. Benzoic acid, however, is not a listed chemical and thus does not trigger reporting requirements. [Pg.26]
