These data indicate that cholesterol and cholesteryl derivatives are the least plentiful of the free and bound sterols in tobacco. These levels are similar to those of the standard and reference cigarettes in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Less Hazardous Program (1329,1330,1332 1333, 2683).
