Toll enrichment

When a power company or other customer wishes to obtain > kg of uranium enriched to yp weight fraction, the usual arrangement is for the customer to purchase [(yp xw)KzF w)]Fpkg of natural uranium with 2 = 0.00711, deliver it to a uranium enrichment plant providing toll enrichment services, and pay for an amount of separative work S calculated from... 

The work required to enrich uranium in increases rapidly with the content of the product. Because of varying domestic prices on natural uranium, as well as varying content of in uranium obtained from used reactor fuel elements, so-called toll enrichment has been introduced. In this case, the purchaser himself provides the uranium feed into the separation plant and pays for the separative work required to make his desired product out of the uranium feed provided. The active ingredient of the MTR, enriched uranium, is introduced as. an aluminum alloy, tolled to sheet form and clad on the edges and faces with 2S aluminum. The finished core dimension is to be 0,020 by 23.75 by 2.55 in. and is to be centered with respect to edges, ends, and faces. Dimensional details are given in Table A6.A.
