Titles length

The rules for writing a research proposal title are similar to those for the journal article and poster. Like journal article titles (see table 7.1), a proposal title should include keywords that will help the program officer decide where to send your proposal for review. The title should also include keywords that capture the need(s) targeted by the granting institution. Abbreviations and acronyms should be avoided. Although explicit restrictions on title length are rare, shorter titles are preferred, provided that they accurately depict the contents and emphases of the proposal. [Pg.517]

From the ASTM document E 969, Table 1. Omitted were columns titled Length of Delivery Tube, mm (Min and Max), Inside Diameter at Capacity Mark, mm (Min and Max), and Maximum Distance Between Bulb and Graduation Mark, mm. Reprinted with permission... [Pg.109]

The environmental report section covers the administrative detail of the CER, such as title, length and format, and how and where various sub-sections, in particular environmental, social and health and safety, are placed in the CER. [Pg.113]

The inside diameter of 9 -in., 53.50-lb/ft casing is 8.535 in. (see Section titled Fishing Operations ). The internal capacity per unit length of casing is... [Pg.1189]

The chemistry of pyrans and their heteroanalogs has developed significantly since 1983, when it was first reviewed by one of the authors (83AHC145). To avoid undue length to this article, only the titled hetero-pyrans are treated and the discussion of the 1-oxygen analogs will be published in the future. [Pg.180]

The generality of this title is misleading, since a worthwhile amount of information is only available for perchloric acid. The mechanism of the initiation and propagation in the polymerisation of DCA, especially 1,3-dioxolan (DXL), has been discussed many times [1-7], and the origin and nature of the differences of opinion on these subjects need not be explained here at length. The most important facts can be summarised as follows. [Pg.755]

Dedimensionalization is an ugly word, fit only to be used in Washington. I am sure 1 have fallen into using it occasionally, but repent in favor of this title in spite of its length. Where there is no possibility of confusion, I will merely use reduction. [Pg.28]

From the ASTM document E 287, Table 1. Omitted were columns titled Class A Scale Length, mm, 0 to Capacity, Class B Scale Length, mm, 0 to Capacity, and Distance, Top of Burette to 0 ... [Pg.114]

The model for these studies was conducted by Hans Hartelius on cats and published in 1952 in a book-length publication titled Cerebral Changes Following Electrically Induced Convulsions. ... [Pg.238]

Series titles are of little value. Some publications do not permit them at all. If consecutive papers in a series are published simultaneously, a series title may be relevant, but in a long series, paper 42 probably bears so limited a relationship to paper 1 that they do not warrant a common title. In addition, an editor or reviewer seeing the same title repeatedly may reject it on the grounds that it is only one more publication on a general topic that has already been discussed at length. [Pg.20]

Nine years after his first publication6 Stork quoted in his own review article8 90 publications devoted to enamines. Our computer search21 in the chemical abstract service (CAS) resulted in 4389 hits for enamines from 1967 to 1992 (up to Volume 117 of Chemical Abstracts) which indicate the importance, use and applications of enamines. A CAS search for reviews on enamines for the same period yielded 92 hits. However, many of these referred to difficultly accessible sources and have therefore been neglected. Only the 22 most important reviews on preparations, properties and synthetic uses of enamines are listed here22-42, and their titles and lengths are given in the list of references. [Pg.4]

This fascinating family of complexes is discussed at length under the title Macrocyclic complexes . [Pg.294]
