Throughput Control

Prove the burner throughput control valves to be in the low fire position (where applicable). 

It was decided to keep these two factors as close as possible during scale-up from bench-scale studies to the pilot plant studies. The first factor controls the rate of adsorption, and the throughput controls the capacity of the XAD-4 quaternary resin. 

Only gas-phase oxidation has proved commercially viable for the oxidation of o-xylene and naphthalene. A high yield with high gas throughput, controlled removal of the heat of reaction with optimal use of process steam, the highest possible precipitation and recovery of the crude product, and efficient purification of the product are essential features of the industrial processes.

Typically the throughput amounted 30-50 images/hour for a pixel matrix of 2000x2500. The scanner was controlled by a PC with menu oriented software. Important parameters such as pixel size and PMT amplification could be adjusted easily. 

Two-speed motors are typically used on noncondensing services where the process is not sensitive to temperature but mostly seasonal or variable throughput of fluids in the air cooler requires some degree of air flow control. This is a simple, rather inexpensive means to control air flow when volume air flow is not critical. Typical motor ratings are 1800/900 rpm, although 1800/1200 rpm types are available. 

A spray comprises a cloud of liquid droplets randomly dispersed ia a gas phase. Depending on the appHcation, sprays may be produced ia many different ways. The purposes of most sprays are (/) creation of a spectmm of droplet sizes to iacrease the Hquid surface-to-volume ratio, (2) metering or control of the hquid throughput, (J) dispersion of the Hquid ia a certain pattern, or (4) generation of droplet velocity and momentum. 

The immediate objective of an advanced control effort is to reduce the variance in an important controlled variable. However, this effort must be coupled with a commitment to adjust the target for this controlled variable so that the process is operated closer to the constraint. In large throughput (commodity) processes, very small shifts in operating targets can lead to large economic returns. 

The objective of crusher control is usually to maximize crusher throughput at some specified product size, without overloading the crusher.
