Thickness determination for full-depth pavement

The resulting total pavement thickness is, in all cases, less than that of any alternative flexible-type pavement. 

The first asphalt layer is laid directly over the subgrade. The only requirement by methodology is the provision of a sub-base layer in case construction equipment experience difficulties in moving over the subgrade material. The author proposes to consider full-depth pavement only when the subgrade resilient modulus is greater then 100 MPa (approximate CRB value, 10).
