Curry is a poptrlar spice mixtrrre with easily recognizable taste and odor. On the other hand, the name ctrrry also occtrrs on the label of a small, green spice plant that is sold in large retail stores. Are these two cormected And after all, what is cirrry  [Pg.71]

The title question does not seem to have much relevance to chemistry. Yet, this spice is worthy of a little more attention as it gives an example how the same word may refer to different substances in different ages and cultures. [Pg.71]

The origins of the word curry and the food ctrrry is not entirely the same. There are several explanations. Some think that ctmy derives from the Tamil word karil. [Pg.71]
