the symptoms felt by the patient in analysis are signs of an unconscious rebellion against the dominant and rigid postures of consciousness. People may begin to have uncomfortable dreams about floods, tidal waves, rain coming down, or the roof leaking. They experience pressure from the unconscious and don t know what to do. The analyst can become worried too, wondering how to keep the process afloat.
