The Lipopolysaccharides of Helicobacter Species from Nonhuman Primates

The Lipopolysaccharides of Helicobacter Species FROM Nonhuman Primates [Pg.144]

Only the LPS of H. niiistelae (ATCC 43772) from ferrets, a commonly used Helicobacter animal model, has been investigated in detail. The LPS of H. mustelae followed the example of H. pylori LPSs in that it also expressed a [Pg.144]

The LPSs of H. pylori strains share the common characteristic of expressing epitopes in their O-chains similar to hnman histo-blood gronp antigens. However, fine points in overall and fine strnctnral details differentiate these LPS molecnles. With this fact in mind, and in order to create a systematic gronping of different H. pylori LPSs, the LPSs from the strains of wliich the chemical strnctnres are known were classified into specific glycotype families (Table 111). [Pg.146]
