The backlog-free performance process

Take another look at the performance process depicted in a Y (Fig. 13). Now picture this Y as a pipeline cut through lengthways. You can see that the pipeline consists of a smooth bore. There are no bottlenecks at any point and it has no oversupply with resources. 

If we were able to provide the performance process - basically all business processes - on time precisely with the resources they require, all business processes would flow smoothly through the enterprise with short throughput times and on schedule.
