Cyclopolymethylenetetrazoles (I) and a number of their derivatives are noted for their stimulating action on the central nervous system and can cause convulsions. The convulsant activity varies and depends on the exact molecular structure of the compound. The convulsant potencies of numerous tetrazole derivatives has been estimated for white mice. The approximate minimum convulsant dose (injected intraperitoneally in physiological saline solution) for (1) is 1000 mg/kg body weight <70MI 806-01 >.
