Tetrahydroindenyl ligand

At first, reaction of 1,2-dibromethane with an excess of indcnyl magnesium bromide leads to the ethano-bridged bis-tetrahydroindenyl ligand 32 (mixture of isomers), from which the racemic complex (rac-31) is obtained. The separation of the enantiomers is finally achieved by fractionated crystallization of the derivative 33 (R OH = (R)-O-acetylmandelic acid). [Pg.80]

According to an early hypothesis21, stereoregular isotactic polymerization requires the presence of chirality within the catalyst. Thus, with achiral metallocenes mostly atactic polymers are obtained. Chiral ansa-metallocenes with substituted cyclopentadienyl ligands, or especially with indenyl and tetrahydroindenyl ligands, are effective in stereoselective polymer synthesis. [Pg.421]

After treatment with the indenyl and tetrahydroindenyl titanium complexes XXXV-XXXVII and the mono(cyclopentadienyl) titanium derivatives XXXVIII-XL phenomena comparable with those observed after application of substituted titanocene derivatives occurred. When only one cyclopentadienyl ring was exchanged by the equally Ti -bound tetrahydroindenyl ligand (XXXVI), the optimum cure rate amounted to 73% whereas, in the case of the bis(indenyl) and bis(tetrahydro-... [Pg.124]
