Temperature dependence single exponential form

To study the UAG3T UAG3T quadruplexes kinetics, the authors performed different types of experiments. Addition of an excess of the complementary strand induces a time-dependent formation of the duplex, whose kinetics are related to quadruplex unfolding. A single exponential function perfectly fits the data for each form. At temperature below 40°C, the parallel quadruplex unfolds faster than the antiparallel one. As the antiparallel quadruplex has slightly higher activation energy of dissociation (Eob = +43 kcal moN v.s. +34 kcal mol for the parallel form), kinetic stability is reversed above 40°C. At 37°C, the lifetimes of the two quadruplexes are very close, around 2 h. To study their kinetics of... [Pg.51]

With the exponential approximation (y 0) and the assumption that the inflow and ambient temperatures are equal, we have a stationary-state equation which links ass to tres and which involves two other unfolding parameters, 0ad and tn. Depending on the particular values of the last two parameters the (1 — ass) versus rres locus has one of five possible qualitative forms. These different patterns are shown in Fig. 7.4 as unique, single hysteresis loop, isola, mushroom, and hysteresis loop plus isola. The five corresponding regions in the 0ad-rN parameter plane are shown in Fig. 7.5. This parameter plane is divided into these regions by a straight line and a cusp, which cut each other at two points. [Pg.193]

The reaction rate constant of a single-stage process varies with temperature according to the Arrhenius functionality. In the analysis of solid catalyzed reactions, the differential form of Equation 2.2 is used to describe the exponential dependence of ksr on temperature ... [Pg.27]
